5 Healthy Smoothies For Weightloss

If you believe that healthy smoothies for weightloss do not exist… think twice!!

I’m almost always reluctant to talk about smoothies for weightloss, expecially with my athletes. And there’s a simple reason for that.

Many people think about smoothies the wrong way. They believe that smoothies are nothing more than sweet stuff and that they are bad for your health. And many women that enter my Dojo for the first time think this as well. But here’s something that you may love to know…

The Wrong Idea About Smoothies

First – not all smothies are created equal. Those you buy from groceries stores are bad for sure (because of chemical sugar and other hellish stuff). On the opposite, those that are “homemade” are safe IF you know how to do them.

Second – if you make fruit smoothies then you may fall into the trap of thinking that they’ll have too much sugar. And too much sugar means your body will release too much insuline in the blood (wich will make you become fatter – as insuline is the #1 fat gaining hormone). But this not entirely correct…

And that’s because smoothies are NOT juices. When you “blend” fruits to make a smoothie, the fruits keep the fiber, and the fiber slows the assimilation process of fructose. This will prevent your body from releasing too much insulin and this will save you from storing extra fat.

Third – like always, quantity matters. It’s difficult to eat 5 apples a day, but to include 5 apples into a smoothie and drink it in 30 seconds is much easier 😉 So don’t be tricked by quantity. If you just have 1 glass of smoothie a day you’ll be able to enjoy all its weightloss benefits without risking to inject too much sugar into your blood.

So the only thing that really matters at this point, is knowing WHICH healthy smoothies for weightloss really deliver the best results.
